International Students
International students entering a degree program at TRU are required to complete a minimum of two academic years at TRU before they are eligible to apply to a Co-op program.
Post Bacc students must apply during their first semester to ensure they can fit the co-op program into their academic studies. Please refer to the infographic outlining the Business Co-op Process.
Career and Experiential Learning offers the required COOP 1000:Career Management course in the fall, winter and summer semesters.
How to Apply
- Create an account in Career Connections.
- Log in to your new Career Connections account
- Once your account is active, you will have access to Co-op Education, which can be found under My Account on the left sidebar.
- Please complete the online co-op application. All fields are mandatory and must be completed. You will be required to upload a copy of your unofficial transcripts and a draft resume. Post Bacc. students must also upload a copy of their transcripts from their previous institution.
- Submit your application for review. If your application is approved, you will receive an email. Or your application may be returned to you if you are required to submit further information.

What’s included in the application
A letter of application (400 words max) which outlines your:
- Career goals, learning objectives and how a Co-op work term will further your career
- Experience, both volunteer and paid
- Background, relevant to your program area (eg. business, geography, geology, computing, etc)
- Commitment to completing the Co-op program, if accepted
A copy of your current resumé including the names of three references. A copy of your TRU transcript (an unofficial copy from myTRU is acceptable).
- If you transferred credits from another institution, include this transcript.
- First-year BNRS students must also submit a copy of their high school transcript.
Copies of any other supporting documents you consider relevant to your application, such as letters of reference, and awards and scholarship letters.
